RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore Amanda Corbosiero has been awarded Atlantic 10 Women's Performer of the Week after her impressive performance at the Colonial Relay this past weekend.
Amanda Corbosiero won the 1500 meter race finishing with a time of 4:22.47. That time is her new personal record and is currently leading the Atlantic 10 this outdoor season. Her time also ranks 40th this season in the NCAA and 17th in the NCAA East Region. Corbosiero also ranks third all-time in Richmond history with that victory time.
She wasn't done there, Corbosiero also helped Richmond's 4 x 800 meter team finish second at the Colonial Relays with a time of 9:00.49.
The sophomore from Roseland, New Jersey, has had nothing short of an impressive season. Following her second place finish in the mile at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships, Corbosiero has picked up three victories in three meets this outdoor season. She finished first at the Tribe Invite in the 800 meter with a time of 2:11.88. That time is the second leading time in the Atlantic 10 this 2016 outdoor season.
Then she took first place at the Fred Hardy Invite in the 1500 meter with a leading time in the A10 before breaking her own time this past weekend at the Colonial Relays.
Amanda and the rest of the team will be back on the track this weekend as they travel to Fairfax, Virginia to compete in the George Mason Invitational.
