FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team will travel up the road to George Mason University to take part in the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday, hoping to bring home more hardware for the Spiders this spring.
Richmond will be trying to improve upon its fifth place finish at this championship a season ago and will be looking to unseat defeating champion and host George Mason on its home turf.
The Spiders will be competing in 15 events including the 200M, 400M, 800M, 1,500M, 5,000M, 10,000M, 3,000M, 4x100M Relay, 4x400M Relay, 4x800M Relay, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus.
The 4x800 team will be in search of back-to-back titles after Taylor Clevinger erased a gap in the last 50 meters of the 2015 meet to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in dramatic fashion.
