Newcomer Spotlight: Alyssa Walker

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's soccer team adds another attacker for the 2016 season in Centerville, Ohio native Alyssa Walker.
A three-year starter at Centerville High, Walker earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including All-State honors in 2015. She also earned Miami Valley First Team, GWOC All-Conference and GWOC Central First Team honors in 2014 and 2015.
Walker led the Elks in scoring from 2013-15 and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors as a junior and senior. She was also the sixth stats leader in 2013, fourth stats leader in 2014 and seventh stats leader in 2015. Under her leadership, Centerville earned district and GWOC titles in 2014 and made it to the district finals in 2013.
A member of Ohio Premier at the club level, Walker helped her team to ECNL Championship ranks of No. 8 in 2013, No. 30 in 2014 and No. 7 in 2016. The team also ranked 34th in the 2015 ECNL North American League, and had a 2013 Top Drawer Soccer rank of 11, a 2014 rank of 25 and a 2016 rank of 17.
Off the field, Walker also lettered one year in both track and basketball. Her 4x200 and 4x100 relay teams finished first in the GWOC, while her 4x200 team finished second at districts and fifth at regionals. Individually, she finished sixth in the GWOC and fourth in the district in the 200m dash, qualifying for regionals in the event.
Academically, Walker was a member of the National Honor Society, a Scholar Athlete and a Three-Sport Varsity Letter Award recipient.
