Hoff, Lowe Lead Spiders After Rain-Delayed First Round

RICHMOND, Va. - Rain suspended the first round of the VCU Janney Invitational on Monday and shortened the season-opening tournament to just 36 holes.
A five-hour rain delay caused golfers to finish the first round in fading light on Monday evening, and teams will just play one round on Tuesday to finish up the tournament.
Senior Keegan Hoff and junior Matthew Lowe each shot even par through the first round. Hoff tallied five birdies, while Lowe finished with three.
Senior Mark Reilly finished at one-over par after staying at E or better for most of the round. Freshmen Zack Justice (+3) and Andrew Sciaretta (+6) combined for five birdies in their first Richmond golf outings.
As a team, the Spiders sit in 10th place at +5, but are in front of Atlantic 10 rivals VCU (+17) and George Washington (+18).
The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning from the Tuckahoe Creek Course of the Country Club of Virginia.
