UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – With the closing of the 2016 season and the arrival of the 2017 National Signing Day, University of Richmond head soccer coach Peter Albright has announced the addition of seven newcomers for the 2017-18 season.
“Our staff put a lot of thought into assembling this class,” Albright said. With nine starters and 23 varsity players returning in the fall, we feel like we have a veteran team capable of producing some great results. The addition of new members, then must be intentional: we not only want good players; we want smart, adaptable players who can grow with us through their first year and help build our depth for 2017 as well as lay the foundation for the future. We are really excited to welcome this class to our program.”
The 2017 signees form a balanced incoming class, with each position on the field represented in the group. The class brings together student-athletes from five different states, including a pair from Virginia and one each from Delaware, Missouri, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
“We are really excited to welcome this class to our program,” Albright added. “There are some real difference makers here; young women of exceptional character and the drive to be relevant team mates as we pursue our goals together.”
