Prillaman Earns A-10 Preseason Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Following a breakout 2016 season on the attacking line, senior Lexi Prillaman has been named to the 2017 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team.

A 2016 Second Team All-Conference honoree, Prillaman is one of three attackers named to the preseason squad. She led the team in every offensive category, scoring 12 goals and assisting on eight others for 32 points on the year.

The attacker also finished the regular season tied for second in conference in assists (8) and assists per game (0.42), third in points (32), points per game (1.68) and goals (12) and fourth in goals per game (0.63).

Prillaman tied a program record in 2016, scoring four times in a 4-2 win over James Madison and earning A-10 Offensive Player of the Week and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week honors for her efforts.

The Spiders open the 2017 season on Friday, August 18, when they host Longwood at Robins Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be followed by an autograph session in Lessing Plaza.
