It was the first top-20 finish for Childress in two career events and the second straight top-20 finish for Baker, who tied for 17th at the season-opening River Run Collegiate in September.
As a team, the Spiders combined to shoot 860 (-4) and finished eighth in the 12-team field.
Sophomore Will Tamplin, playing in just his second career event, followed his opening round 69 (-3) with rounds of 75 (+3) and 74 (+2) to finished tied for 33rd at 218 (+2). Freshman Jordan Secret, also playing in the second tournament of his career, tied for 55th with a score of 223 (+7).
"There are lots of good things to take away from this week," said head coach Adam Decker. "It's actually a fairly young team and we are learning a lot about team golf. Finishing off rounds and being competitive in the final rounds are the next steps in the learning process. I'm excited about this group and its potential this year."
The Spiders will conclude their fall season at the Steelwood Collegiate in Loxley, Alabama on October 27thand 28th.
