Spider Sportsline On At Glory Days Grill Monday At 5:30
12/09/2018 | Men's Basketball
The Spider Sportsline will be held at Glory Days Grill, 10466 Ridgefield Parkway in the Gleneagles Shopping Center, this Monday, Dec. 10 from 5:30-6:30pm. The restaurant is open and the snow has been cleared from the parking lot. Monday's program features head men's basketball coach Chris Mooney with special player guest sophomore standout Jacob Gilyard scheduled to appear as well as interaction from listeners and fans attending the show.
In two games since returning from a two-game absence because of a groin strain, Gilyard has scored 28 points, with 14 assists, one turnover and seven steals. Despite playing a career-low 19 minutes in the blowout win over Coppin State, the Kansas City, Mo. native still extended his streak of five assists or more to all seven games in which he has played. He is averaging 15.9 points per game, including a career-high 31 points against IUPUI. Gilyard is 23 points shy of 500 career points in just 39 games.
With semester final exams this week, the Spiders are in the midst of a 10-day game break. Monday's show will recap the Coppin State win and preview Saturday's 4pm home game vs. Oral Roberts, as well as take a look around the Atlantic 10 and college basketball.
The Spider Sportsline is hosted by "Voice of the Spiders" Bob Black, and can be heard live on ESPN Richmond's 99.5 & 102.7 FM and 950 AM, as well as online at RichmondSpiders.com, espnrichmond.com, and on the TuneIn app. An audio archive of each week's show is available on the SpiderTV page and in the Audio Vault at espnrichmond.com. Fans in attendance will be able to hear the live program directly on Glory Days Grill's table top audio boxes by tuning to Channel 3.
