Acosta, Preschutti Earn Atlantic 10 All-Academic Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- After stellar performances at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship, senior Haley Preschutti and sophomore Maria Acosta were recognized for their work in the classroom, as both were named to the A-10 All-Academic Team.
Preschutti, who is the two-time A-10 1,000m champion, has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.95 in business administration. In addition to winning the 1,000m, Preschutti took home a gold medal as part of the 4x800m relay team. This is the second time, the Collegeville, Pa. native has been named to the All-Academic Team.Â
Acosta took home a pair of medals from the A-10 Championship. She was part of conference champion DMR team and took the silver in the 800m where she logged a personal-best time of 2:09.94. The sophomore from Maywood, N.J. maintains a 3.72 grade-point average in theater. Over the weekend, Acosta was part of the school record setting 4x800m relay team at the ECAC Championship.
