Women’s Golf Selection Show Airing on the Golf Channel on Wednesday Afternoon

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's golf team, fresh off its third-consecutive Patriot League Championship will learn its destination for its third NCAA Regional on Wednesday afternoon when the Golf Channel airs the annual NCAA Women's Golf Selection Show.
The 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships selections announcement will take place at 5:30 p.m. ET, on Golf Channel's Golf Central and streamed live on the Golf Channel website. Seventy-two teams and 24 individuals will be selected to compete at one of four regional championships, each featuring 18 teams and six individuals, May 7-9. From regional competition, 24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the national championships to be played May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The four regional sites include TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California, hosted by Stanford University; the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas, hosted by the University of Texas; the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin, hosted by the University of Wisconsin; and the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course & Club in Tallahassee, Florida, hosted by Florida State University.
The Spiders have competed at the NCAA Regionals each of the last two years finishing 17th at their respective sites on both occasions. The 2017-18 season has been, undoubtedly the most successful in program history. The Spiders have won four team titles, and three individual titles while also achieving the highest GolfStat ranking in program history in the fall (59). With three-straight victories to begin the season, the Spiders were the last unbeaten program in the nation and became one of just 22 teams in NCAA history to win back-to-back-to-back events in the same year.
