Spiders Drop 4-3 Decision to George Washington

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team mounted a strong comeback on Sunday afternoon at the Westhampton Courts, but were unable to finish the job, falling to George Washington, 4-3.

The Colonials jumped out to an early lead with a sweep in doubles play.

The Spiders fought back into the match, as Joe Nardini downed Amlan Sahoo, 6-0, 6-2 on court 6. Klein Evans was able to take a 6-4, 6-2 win on court 4 over Christos Hadjigeorgiou, before Caleb Troy gave the Spiders their third point with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1 over William Tutecky.

The Colonials went on to win the remaining three courts for the 4-3 victory. James Aronson and George Lovitt managed to take their counterparts to a third set, but were unable to close out the victory.

The Spiders return to action on Saturday, April 14, when they travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to take on Connecticut in a neutral site matchup.
