Spider Talk Season Premiere With Coach Mooney Set For Monday 5:30pm At Glory Days Grill
12/01/2019 | General, Men's Basketball, Spider Athletic Fund
Spider Talk with Coach Chris Mooney will tip off its second season at Glory Days Grill, 10466 Ridgefield Parkway in the Gleneagles Shopping Center, this Monday, Dec. 2 from 5:30-6:30pm. The program features head men's basketball coach Chris Mooney and special player guests as well as interaction from listeners and fans attending the show. Â
Junior guard Jacob Gilyard and sophomore forward Souleymane Koureissi are scheduled to appear on Monday's show. Gilyard, a preseason All-Atlantic 10 first team selection, is coming off a week in which he was named to the Roman Legends Classic All Tournament team. The Kansas CIty, Mo. native finished his week with 22 points, a career-high tying eight rebounds, six assists and five steals in the Spiders' 64-44 victory over ACC foe Boston College. He became the fourth Spider with 200 career assists and is ten points shy of becoming the 48th Spider to reach 1,000 career points.
Koureissi made his first collegiate start in Saturday's victory over BC, replacing the injured Grant Golden. The Harlem, NY native made an impact in his hometown in front of approximately 30 family and friends at the Legend's Classic in Brooklyn. He sparked the Spiders in Monday's win over Wisconsin with three rebounds, two steals and a tip-in with two minutes remaining that sealed the triumph. He has chipped in 19 points in the past five games, shooting 8-12 (67%) from the floor.  Â
Spider Talk is hosted by "Voice of the Spiders" Bob Black, and can be heard live on ESPN Richmond's 99.5 & 102.7 FM and 950 AM, as well as online at RichmondSpiders.com, espnrichmond.com, and on the TuneIn app. An audio archive of each week's show is available on the SpiderTV page and in the Audio Vault at espnrichmond.com. Fans in attendance will be able to hear the live program directly on Glory Days Grill's table top audio boxes by tuning to Channel 3.
Â
Fans, alums and corporate partners are encouraged to attend the live show at the West End Glory Days Grill location. Listeners and fans can interact during the show, and anytime, by submitting questions and comments online.
