Spider Talk with Coach Chris Mooney is set for its second show of the season this Monday, Dec. 9 at Glory Days Grill, 10466 Ridgefield Parkway in the Gleneagles Shopping Center, from 5:30-6:30pm. A full house at Glory Days enjoyed last week's season premiere. The program features head men's basketball coach Chris Mooney and this week's special player guests Nick Sherod and Andre Gustavson as well as interaction from listeners and fans attending the show. Â
Spider Talk is hosted by "Voice of the Spiders" Bob Black, and can be heard live on ESPN Richmond's 99.5 & 102.7 FM and 950 AM, as well as online at RichmondSpiders.com, espnrichmond.com, and on the TuneIn app. An audio archive of each week's show is available on the SpiderTV page and in the Audio Vault at espnrichmond.com. Fans in attendance will be able to hear the live program directly on Glory Days Grill's table top audio boxes by tuning to Channel 3.
Sherod continues to excel in his comeback from last season's knee injury. The Richmond native from nearby St. Christopher's scored 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the Spiders' wins over Hampton (16 points; 9 rebounds) and South Alabama (17 points; 9 rebounds) . He was 11-20 from the floor including 8-15 from three-point range. He is now shooting 48% from three and averaging 15.3ppg.Â
Coming off the bench, Gustavson has provided a spark both offensively and defensively. Against Hampton, the Finland native had eight points, three rebounds and two assists. In Saturday's home victory over South Alabama, he delivered his fifth career double figure scoring game with 10 points, highlighted by an ally-oop slam dunk, plus four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.  In the past four games, he's scored 29 points (12-24 FG) and grabbed 17 rebounds.
