
Baker Leads Spiders At Mission Inn Spring Spectacular

HOWLEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Sophomore Michael Baker fired rounds of 72 and 74 on the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort on Saturday and is tied for 24th in the field of 108 at George Mason's Mission Inn Spring Spectacular.Â
Baker registered six birdies, four bogeys, and two double bogeys and is tops on the leaderboard among the six Spiders competing at the event. As a team, Richmond is tied for 13th in the 17-team field after recording scores of 301 and 307 for a 36-hole total of 608 (+32), tied with Princeton.Â
Ben Wanicheck, the only senior on the Spiders roster, is tied for 59th at 152 (+8) after shooting 73 Saturday afternoon following an opening-round 79 on Saturday morning.Â
The Spiders will start Sunday's third and final round with a shotgun start at 8:15 AM.Â
