RICHMOND, Va. – Senior defensive lineman Maurice Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) earned a spot on the College Football America Yearbook's (CFAY) 2019 FCS Preseason Starting Lineup. Jackson is one of six student-athletes from the Colonial Athletic Association to earn a spot in the lineup, which is the CFAY's version of the All-American team.
Jackson finished 2018 as an AP Third Team All-American after leading the CAA with 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles. He was also named first team All-CAA and All-ECAC. The 10 sacks ranks fifth all-time in program history. In 10 games, Jackson recorded 46 tackles, and scored a touchdown after scooping up a fumble and returning it 29 yards.
Joining Jackson on the defensive lineup is fellow CAA member Manny Patterson from Maine. The CAA took four of the five specialists awards with Towson's placekicker Aidan O'Neill and all-purpose back Shane Simpson and returners Jean Constant of Stony Brook and D'Angelo Amos from James Madison.
