Women’s Track and Field Starts PSU National Invitational With DMR

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team opened the first day of the Penn State National Invitational competing in the distant medley relay Friday at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
The quartet of senior Claire Brown (Erie, Pa.), sophomore Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.), sophomore Kendra Smither (Richmond, Va.), and freshman Lily Snow (Richmond, Va.) finished fourth with the Atlantic 10-leading time of 11:43.48.
Leading off with the 1,200 meters, Brown posted a time of 3:33.41 while Helbling turned in the fastest 400 meters of the race in 55.45. Smither ran the second-fastest 800 meters leg of the day with a time of 2:12.76 as anchor leg Snow finished 1,600 meters with a time of 5:01.86.
The Spiders are back in action on Saturday for the final day of the PSU National Invitational at Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
