
Spiders Jump to 23rd in USA TODAY Coaches Poll

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Following a road win against an SEC opponent and a neutral-court victory over one of the nation's top mid-majors, the Richmond Spiders were ranked 23rd in Monday's edition of The USA TODAY Coaches Poll, a two-spot improvement from last week.Â
Following a week in which they won at Vanderbilt and defeated Loyola Chicago, the Spiders received 95 points from the panel of 32 Division I coaches and was the only Atlantic 10 school in the top 25. Saint Louis received 21 points, 31st among all teams.Â
In Monday's Associated Press Top 25 poll, Richmond received 142 points, two more than last week. The Spiders point total ranked 27th among all teams. Richmond has received votes in all five editions of the AP Top 25 poll this season. Richmond's streak of receiving votes in five consecutive AP polls is the second-longest single-season streak in program history behind the final six polls of the 2009-10 season.Â
