Hinds-Clarke Named A-10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After a 2-0 week for Richmond women's basketball, senior forward Jaide Hinds-Clarke was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Hinds-Clarke had an outstanding week averaging 21.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in two road wins at George Mason (W, 75-70) and at St. Bonaventure (W, 72-58). Hinds-Clarke shot an insane 77.3 percent (17-for-22) from the field missing just five shots in two games. She also went 5-for-6 (83.3 percent) from the three-point line.
 
The Westwood, N.J. native tied her career high with 21 points and seven rebounds against George Mason before scoring a new career high of 22 points at St. Bonaventure. Hinds-Clarke also hit four three-pointers in the win at St. Bonaventure. She grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds, earning her 14th career double-double against the Bonnnies.
 
Hinds-Clarke is the first Spider to be named A-10 Player of the Week since Genevieve Okoro was awarded on Feb. 24, 2014. Hinds-Clarke had won three A-10 Rookie of the Week honors back in the 2016-17 season.
 
Hinds-Clarke will be one of four Richmond seniors (Jayana Ervin, Amy Duggan, Ragan Wiseman) to be honored on Senior Night against Saint Louis on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. The Spiders are 14-14 and 7-7 in A-10 play coming into the final week of the regular season.
