Jack Rusbuldt Named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond redshirt junior goalie Jack Rusbuldt (Richmond, Va.) was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday. This marks Rusbuldt's second career weekly honor from the SoCon and the 20^th-ranked Spiders' fourth week being honored with an award this season.

Rusbuldt guided the Spiders to two wins on the week at Mount St. Mary's and in the SoCon opener at VMI. His play helped the Spiders improve to 30-5 all-time in league play and open the conference season with a win for the sixth-straight season.

Rusbuldt allowed just nine goals in the two games for a 5.14 goals against average. He tallied 19 saves in the two games, 10 of which came in the midweek victory at Mount St. Mary's. He followed that up with nine saves in three quarters against VMI, allowing just two goals by the Keydets.

This season, Rusbuldt leads the SoCon with a .556 save percentage while also leading the league with 90 total saves. The Spiders return to action this weekend, hosting Bellarmine in league play Saturday afternoon at Robins Stadium. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. in the second game of a women's/men's lacrosse doubleheader.
