02/21/2026 | Men's Lacrosse
Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond men's lacrosse improved to 4-0 and matched the best start in program history with a complete 16-7 win over Lehigh Saturday at Robins Stadium. Richmond was led by Lucas Littlejohn and Jack Ricciardi, who each scored four goals, as the Spiders opened a season with four straight wins for the first time since 2017.
Richmond sprinted out of the gates, scoring two, four, five, seven, 11, and 12 minutes into the game to take a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. The Spiders outscored the Mountain Hawks 4-0 in the second frame to take a commanding 10-1 lead into halftime.
The Spiders held Lehigh, which entered the game receiving votes in national polls and with a ranked win over Michigan last week, to its fewest goals in a game this season and overwhelmed the Mountain Hawks with 52 shots to their 23, including just three in the first quarter while Richmond set the tone with 16.
The Spiders, ranked as high as No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll, have outscored their opponents 66-31 this season and have won each game by at least six goals.
Ricciardi's four goals were a career high, while Littlejohn (assist) tied his career best with four. Aidan O'Neil (two assist) and Gavin Creo each added three goals for the Spiders. O'Neil, who has recorded at least five points each game this season and has scored at least three goals in the last three games, is now just three goals away from reaching the 100 career goal milestone.
Daniel Picart (assist) and Joe Sheridan (two assists) both scored once. Cole Hayden and Jack Pilling chipped in assists as well.
Goalie Connor Knight picked up his fourth win of the season by making seven saves and picking up four ground balls, tied with Anthony DiCenso for the most among Spiders.
Lehigh turned the ball over 18 times, with the Spiders forcing 13 of them, led by graduate defender Michael Farrell, who matched a career high with three.
Up next for the Spiders is a pair of top-five matchups. On February 28, Richmond will visit defending national champion Cornell, currently ranked No. 4 in USA Lacrosse Magazine's top 25, in a rematch of last year's NCAA quarterfinals meeting. On March 7, the Spiders will host No. 3 Georgetown at Robins Stadium.
