Women’s Lacrosse Secures Place in Final National Polls

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's lacrosse program was ranked No. 17 in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll for the 2020 season.
The undefeated Spiders also rank 10th in the Mavrik/ Inside Lacrosse Women's NCAA Division I Media Poll (March 9). UR sits at No. 13 in the Nike/ US Lacrosse Magazine NCAA Division I Women's Top-20 poll (March 9).
The Spiders (7-0) jumped into the national polls for the first time this season on March 2, at No. 12 in both media polls and at No. 20 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, marking the program's highest ranking since the 2008 season.
Richmond, through seven games, was the top team in the country in assists-per-game (10.43), second in draw control percentage (.674) and scoring margin (10.86 points). The squad ranked third in points per game (28.86) and fourth in clearing percentage (.917) and scoring offense (18.43 points). The Spiders were fifth in draw controls per game (18.57) and sixth in scoring defense (7.57).
