Sean Menges & Jason Reynolds Earn Maverick Inside Lacrosse All-America Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond senior long-stick midfielder Sean Menges (Richmond, Va.) and junior defender Jason Reynolds (Chester Springs, Pa.) were named Honorable Mention All-America Wednesday morning by Maverick Inside Lacrosse in a vote by collegiate media members in the shortened season.
Menges, a 2020 Senior CLASS Award nominee, was a preseason Southern Conference selection this year after earning First Team All-SoCon honors last season. He led the Spiders with 26 ground balls in the first seven games of the season and was second on the team with nine caused turnovers. Menges earned SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors in the opening week, causing a career-high six turnovers against No. 4 Maryland.
Reynolds is a two-time All-SoCon selection and was tabbed preseason All-League this season. He anchored the Spiders defense that ranked 16th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (9.29) and was 20th in the country in scoring defense (10.57). Reynolds also helped the Spiders finish the season fourth in clearing percentage in the country at 91.7 percent.
The Spiders finished the regular season ranked No. 20 in the country with a 4-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Southern Conference play. Richmond is now 30-5 all-time in SoCon play in program history, the best mark in league history.
