Football Program Posts Highest GPA In Program History

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond football program recorded the highest team grade point average in a single semester in program history during the spring 2020 semester when the Spiders boasted a 3.25 team term GPA.
The efforts of the Spider student-athletes were even more impressive given the adaptation they endured surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The Spider student-athletes were forced to work remotely halfway through the semester.
"This is a testament to the hard work of our Spider student-athletes," head coach Russ Huesman said. "It is even more impressive given their adaptation to remote learning in the middle of the semester. This could not have been accomplished without the hard work of our academic team lead by Shannon St. Pierre for providing support to our team."
Five Spider student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester. Even more impressive, a total of 48 Spider student-athletes recorded a 3.0 GPA or better for the semester, over half of the entire team.
