Budnik Earns Second Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman forward Addie Budnik (Highland Park, Ill.) helped the University of Richmond to a road sweep this past weekend and was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday.
It is the second A-10 honor for Budnik after averaging 15.0 points per game, six rebounds per game, three blocks per game and 3.5 assists per game. Budnik shot 45.0 percent from the field and was 10-for-12 from the free throw line in two road wins.
The Highland Park, Ill. native, continues to impact games on the defensive end with six blocks in two wins at St. Bonaventure (W, 59-58) and at Duquesne (W, 80-78). Budnik is currently 11th in the nation with 27 total blocks and seventh in blocks per game at 3.37.
Budnik finished with a team-high 18 points and was 6-for-8 from the field against Duquesne. She added 12 points in a one-point win at St. Bonaventure, going 6-for-8 from the free throw line.
The last Spider to earn multiple A-10 Rookie of the Week honors was Jaide Hinds-Clarke during the 2016-17 season. The Spiders return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 13, against George Washington at 5 p.m. inside the Robins Center.
