Women’s Tennis Announces the Signing of Lizzie Novak

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond head women's tennis coach Mark Wesselink has announced the signing of five-star recruit Lizzie Novak to his 2022 class. A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., Novak is ranked 67th nationally and second in the state of Michigan by The Tennis Recruiting Network.
Out of Mattawan High School, Novak was the Michigan High School Tennis State Champion in 2019 and was named the Western Michigan Player of the Year in 2020.
Novak boasted an impressive 2021 campaign in which she was the Midwest Closed Doubles Champion and the March National L3 Doubles Champion. She was also the West Draw Champion in National Doubles.
In singles play, Novak earned third place in February National Level 2 and fourth place in March National Level 3.
"I chose Richmond because of the beautiful campus, strong academics, and competitive tennis program," Novak said "I'm honored and excited to be a student-athlete at the University of Richmond. Go Spiders!"
