RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team announced television broadcast and radio information for the 2021-22 season Sunday. A minimum of 14 Spiders games will air on national television, starting with the CBS Sports Network broadcast of UR's game vs Utah State at the Veterans Classic in Annapolis, Md. on November 12. It's the first of at least seven games Richmond will play on CBS Sports Network this season.Â
Â
The Spiders will also play on five games on ESPN networks, one on the ACC Network, and one on the USA Network. Three of Richmond's five games on ESPN networks will be Friday primetime games at the Robins Center: January 14 vs Davidson on ESPNU, February 4 vs St. Bonaventure on ESPN2, and February 25 vs Saint Louis on ESPN2.Â
Â
The 10 Robins Center games that are not nationally televised will be streamed on ESPN Plus and broadcast on regional television. NBC Sports Washington will air seven of those games, beginning with the season opener on November 9 vs NC Central. MASN will air the other three: December 11 vs Toledo, December 19 vs Old Dominion, and January 11 vs George Mason. SpiderTV will produce the broadcasts, with Bob Black, the Voice of the Spiders, handling play-by-play for the 39th straight season and Richmond Athletics Hall-of-Famer Greg Beckwith providing analysis. Blake Ellett will serve as producer and director.Â
Â
Each game produced by SpiderTV, along with all other Atlantic 10 games not airing on national television, will be streamed on ESPN Plus. Monthly subscriptions are available for $6.99 and annual subscriptions are available for $69.99 at ESPN.com and ESPNplus.com.Â
Â
Spider fans can listen to every Richmond basketball game on ESPN Richmond Radio, airing on 106.1 FM in the Richmond area. Black and Beckwith are the primary play-by-play announcer and analyst for ESPN Richmond broadcasts, with Robert Fish and Matt Smith stepping in for games that are produced by SpiderTV.Â
