Richmond Athletics partners with Richmond and Henrico Health Districts to offer free basketball tickets at COVID-19 vaccine clinics

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Athletics has partnered with the Virginia Department of Health and the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts to offer free tickets to Spider basketball games to children between the ages of 5 and 11 who get vaccinated against COVID-19. Starting this week, ticket vouchers for one free children's ticket to a Spider basketball home game will be distributed at the following COVID-19 vaccine clinics:
"We are proud to help support the Virginia Department of Health in this critical effort," said David Walsh, Deputy Athletics Director & Chief of Operations at Richmond. "Keeping our entire community safe and healthy is a top priority for Richmond Athletics, and we are glad that we could help the VDH's efforts to fight against COVID-19.
"We thank UR for supporting childhood COVID-19 vaccinations by offering free basketball game admissions to the brave kiddos who got vaccinated against COVID-19," says Virginia Slattum, Nurse Supervisor at Richmond Henrico Health District. "The vaccination response has been a community effort and we couldn't do it without all of our partners!"
Individuals who have already had their children vaccinated or choose to vaccinate their children at another location can also receive a free children's ticket by presenting that child's COVID-19 vaccine card at the Richmond Athletics Ticket Office in the Robins Center at 365 College Road any time prior to the day of the game they are attending.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when attending games at the Robins Center.

- Tuesdays, Second Baptist Church (3300 Broad Rock Blvd), 3:00pm-6:00pm
- Wednesdays, Eastern Henrico Recreation Center (1440 N Laburnum Ave), 1:00pm-4:00pm
- Thursdays, Downtown RCHD (400 E Cary St), 1:00pm-4:00pm
- Fridays, Western HCHD (8600 Dixon Powers Dr), 9:00am-12:00pm
