Burton Collects Weekly A-10 Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond forward Tyler Burton was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. This is Burton's second weekly league honor and the first since the week of December 14, 2020.
Helping the Spiders to wins over NC State and Old Dominion, Burton averaged 22.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, while shooting .560 percent from the field and .455 percent from three.
Against NC State on Friday, Burton scored 16 points on 6-of-11 from the field including two three-pointers and a pair of free throws. He also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds as the Spiders defeated a power-conference opponent for the 26th time in Chris Mooney's tenure.
In Sunday's victory over Old Dominion, Burton led all players with 29 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh career double-double. He shot .571 percent from the field (8-14), including .429 from long range (3-7), and 10-for-12 from the charity stripe. He also tallied a steal and a block to help Richmond to a fifth straigth win, its longest win streak since February 2020.
Burton and the Spiders are back at Robins Center Wednesday to host Bucknell. Tip is set for 4 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington, NBC Sports Philadelphia-Plus and ESPN-Plus.
