Gilyard a candidate for 2021-22 Senior CLASS Award
12/07/2021 | Men's Basketball
The award recognizes student-athletes who excel in four areas: community, classroom, character, and competition. The field of 30 men's candidates and 30 women's candidates will be narrowed to two fields of 10 finalists later in the season. A nationwide voting system that includes media, coaches, and fans will determine the winners, which will be announced at each sport's respective NCAA Final Four in the spring.Â
Gilyard is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management at Richmond after receiving his Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric & Communication Studies in May. He is a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection who became the NCAA Division I all-time steals leader earlier this month. Gilyard is active in efforts to promote autism awareness, both on campus and in his hometown of Kansas City.
