Addie Budnik Named World Exposure Report Finalist For Freshman of The Year

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond freshman forward Addie Budnik (Highland Park, Ill.) was named a finalist for Freshman of the Year by World Exposure Report, announced Monday. Budnik is one of 10 finalists.

The winner will be announced on April 9 as part of the other "World Exposure Report" awards.

Budnik earned the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year award and was named to the A-10 All-Rookie team. She was a three-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honoree. Budnik finished second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game and third in rebounding at 5.0 boards per game. Her 65 blocks finished second all-time in a single-season at Richmond and is ranked 11^th in the nation. In the A-10 Championship quarterfinal, Budnik had four blocks against Saint Louis. She finished the season at 2.95 blocks per game, which is seventh in the nation.

The Highland Park, Ill. native scored in double-figures in 14 of 22 games this season. Budnik led the team in free throw percentage at 88.9 percent (fifth-best in school history) on 40-for-45 from the line. She was second on the team with 22 three-pointers made. Budnik scored a career-high 23 points against William & Mary and finished with 21 points in a road game at Saint Louis.

Budnik started the final 18 games of the season and led the team in field goal percentage at 48.5 percent (94-for-194).
