Mitchell Wins Second Patriot League Golfer of the Week Award in Three Weeks

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond junior Naomi Mitchell has been named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Mitchell shot rounds of 75 and 74 en route to a 5-over 149 in Richmond's win vs William & Mary on Sunday at Independence Golf Club, best among all Spiders and tied for the best in the field of 13.Â
This is the second Golfer of the Week award of Mitchell's career and her second in the last three weeks. On March 10, Mitchell was named the Patriot League's Women's Golfer of the Week after shooting 220 (+4) at the River Landing Classic in Wallace, N.C. and carding a 76 (+4) The Match at Spring Creek in Zions Crossroads, Va.Â
Through seven competitive rounds this season, Mitchell leads Richmond with a stroke average of 74.57, over three-and-a-half strokes lower than her career scoring average entering the season.Â
Up next for Mitchell and the Spiders is the 54-hole William & Mary Invitational at Kingsmill Resort on March 28-29.Â
