KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The Richmond Spiders men's golf team finished 12th at the 15-team Irish Creek Collegiate on Saturday, carding a 291 (+7) in Round 3 to finish the 54-hole event at 882, 30 strokes over par. Sophomore Lou Baker, who won his second straight Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Award on Saturday, was Richmond's top individual finisher, tying for 11th in the field of 84 at 215 (+2).

Starting on the 10th hole Saturday morning, Baker was 3-over at the turn but played the front nine in 2-under par to finish with a 1-over 72. That was tied with senior MIchael Baker for the Spider's low round on Saturday. Michael Baker and teammate Ben Cooper finished the event among a group of six players at 221 (+8), tied for 33rd in the field.

Junior Michael Childress tied for 72nd at 230 (+17) and junior Carter Cook tied for 76th at 231 (+18).

The event was the Richmond's last until the Atlantic 10 Championships, which will begin on April 30 at the Reunion Resort and Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
