Spider Hockey Welcomes Four-Member 2021 Class

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond field hockey head coach Jamie Montgomery has announced the program will welcome four newcomers for the 2021 season.
The Spider Hockey program welcomes forwards Stevie Drum and Jessica Mullen, midfielder Annie Nash and goalkeeper Kristen Rake. Two newcomers hail from Pennsylvania while the other two come from Virginia, including one from Richmond.
"We are so excited to welcome this passionate, dynamic, and hardworking class of 2021 to the Spider Hockey program," Montgomery said.
Stevie Drum | Forward | Virginia Beach, Va. | Frank W Cox High
Drum joins the Spiders after scoring 100 goals in her prep career at Frank W Cox High. She was a VHSL Class 5 First Team All-State and All-Tidewater honoree after helping her team to a Class 5 State Championship in 2019.
Jessica Mullin | Forward | Berwyn, Pa. | Conestoga High
Mullin joins the program after helping the Conestoga High team to an undefeated 2020 season as well as a Central League Championship and Central League Tournament title. She was named All-Central League and All-Main Line teams.
Annie Nash | Midfield | Midlothian, Va. | Trinity Episcopal High
Nash helped the Trinity Episcopal High program to a 2019 VISAA State Championship and League of Independent Schools Championship, as well as a No. 3 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Nash is the younger sister of current Spider Hockey member Addie and Spider Hockey alumnae Emma ('20).
Kristen Rake | Goalkeeper | Havertown, Pa. | Merion Mercy Academy
Rake served as 2020 team captain of for the Merion Mercy Academy hockey program. In 24 games in the 2019 season, Rake made 128 saves and allowed only 25 goals. She helped the squad earn 2019 PIAA 2A District and AACA Championships. Rake collected All-State Honorable Mention, All-State Academic Team, AACA All-Star, and All-Main Line Second Team honors.
