Fazio Advances to 800m Final at NCAA Track & Field Championship Finals

EUGENE, Ore. – University of Richmond's Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.) becomes the first Spider since 2011 to reach the finals of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship Finals. Fazio will race in the final of the 800-meters Saturday, June 12, at 7:14 p.m. eastern on ESPNU at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
Out of the first heat of the 800m semifinals, Fazio advanced based on being impeded and subsequently tripped to the ground by another runner who was disqualified under rule 15.5-3a. Fazio crossed the finish line with a time of 2:15.90.
Fazio joins Nicol Traynor, Heather Roush (Javelin) and Amy VanAlstine (5000m) to have competed in the final of their respective events at the NCAA Championship Finals in 2011.
