06/02/2021 | Football, General
RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond athletics department announced the Spiders will install a new, state-of-the-art LED video board at Robins Stadium during the 2021 fall season.
The new LED video board will replace the original video board at Robins Stadium that was installed upon opening in 2010. The new board will encompass video throughout the entire board, measuring 60 feet wide and almost 28 feet tall and overlapping on the current video board footprint. The video board will run 1800x828 pixels and with a pixel pitch of 10-milimeter pixel spacing on full LED.
The Daktronics video board will be configured for multiple uses throughout a game. From traditional video replays, statistics and sponsorships implemented in an engaging way, fans will be treated to a well-rounded presentation with the help of the Daktronics DMP-8000 digital media player and Show Control system.
The University's on-campus stadium was named E. Claiborne Robins Stadium in 2009 upon opening and has been ranked as one of the top stadiums in all of FCS Football. The new LED video board from Daktronics continues the facility updates recently that included new AstroTurf and Beynon Track installation in 2019.
The Spiders are set to open the 2021 fall season September 4 against Howard in the first of six homes games this fall at Robins Stadium .
