Five Spiders Earn Cross Country All-Atlantic 10 Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Five Spiders earned individual awards from the Atlantic 10 Conference Tuesday afternoon. On the men's side, Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) earned Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference honors, and Stuart Terrill (Crozet, Va.) earned Men's Cross Country All-Rookie Team honors. For the women, Manon Stephen (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Elizabeth Stockman (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) all earned Women's Cross Country All-Rookie Team.
Borger and Terrill were named USTFCCCA All-Academic athletes for their efforts during the season. Terrill was named the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer as he helped the Spiders win their second Atlantic 10 Championship. He took second at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, turning in a season-best time of 24:31.3. He was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his efforts after his very first collegiate race, taking first at the Richmond Winter Cross Country Invitational as he was named to the Rookie All A-10 Team. Borger finished third at the Atlantic 10 Championship, earning All-Conference honors. He ran in all three events during the winter season, finishing in the top 10 of all three races. He is a business administration major.
The three women earned Cross Country All-Rookie Team honors. Stephen ran in all three events in her first season as a Spider, finishing in the top 38 of all runners in each race. She began her collegiate career with a 16th-place finish at the Richmond Winter Cross Country Invite with a time of 18:50.7. Her personal best jumped just a few weeks later as she finished the Atlantic 10 Championship with a time of 18:25.2. Stockman earned a pair of Atlantic 10 Rookie Performer of the Week awards, as well as being named the Atlantic 10's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer for her efforts during the conference meet. At the A-10 meet, she finished eighth overall with a time of 17:38.4. She took third and fifth in her first two races. Trippett ran in two of three races in the winter season. She finished the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship with a time of 18:33.2.
