Spiders Track & Field Wraps Day One at Clemson Invite

Clemson, S.C. — The University of Richmond track and field program recorded six personal best times at day one of the Clemson Invite Friday.
The Spiders got the day started with the 1,000-meter run where Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.) (PB, 2:52.11), Kendra Smither (Richmond, Va.) (PB, 2:53.11) and Kate McAndrew (Denville, N.J.) (2:58.03) finished fourth, sixth and ninth, respectively.
Kamryn Ross (Richmond, Va.) ran a 8.91 in 60m hurdles prelims, nearly matching her season-best (8.90) set at the CNU Holiday Open in December.
Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) placed sixth in the long jump with a season-best 19-02.75, passing her winning mark of 19-00.00 from last month's meet. Grace Mittl (Bethlehem, Pa.) turned in also turned in a 17-00.50 in long jump.
Tamar Accius (Jacksonville, Fla.) tied her personal best of 7.68 in 60m dash prelims, while Woods clocked another Spiders PB with a 7.72.
Finally, Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.) placed third in the 600 with a personal best 1:31.55, bettering her previous best of 1:33.28 set at the CNU Holiday Open.
