Spiders to Host Davidson in First Round of FCS Playoffs

Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond football team will make its 12th NCAA FCS playoff appearance when it hosts Davidson Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m.
The playoff berth comes as the first since 2016 for the Spiders, who finished the regular season with an 8-3 record including three wins over top-25 opponents.
Davidson, the Pioneer Football League's automatic qualifier, carries an 8-3 record into Robins Stadium and made playoff appearances each of the previous two seasons by way of back-to-back PFL titles.
Richmond's history in the NCAA FCS playoffs has been highlighted by semifinals appearances in 2007, 2015 and 2016 and, of course, the national championship victory in 2008.
Saturday's game marks the 12th time Richmond has hosted a playoff game. The team is 8-3 when playing at home.
