Track & Field Heads to The Armory for Rutgers Open

Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond track & field program makes the trip to New York City's iconic New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory for the Rutgers Open Friday and Saturday. Meet information can be found here.
Spectators will be permitted at the facility and must purchase tickets online or at the door as well as show proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Furthermore, tickets are available online through the Armory website and may be purchased by individual seat location or general admission.
Tamar Accius (Jacksonville, Fla.) is set for the 60m dash where she currently sits tied for seventh in the Atlantic 10. She'll be joined by Morgan Crocker (Richmond, Va.), Kamryn Ross (Richmond, Va.) and Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.).
Woods and Crocker are set for the long jump along with Grace Mittl (Bethlehem, Pa.). Woods, Accius and Ross will also run the 200m dash. Ross is currently ranked fourth in the A-10, while Accius is sixth.
Gabrielle Beneducci (Hampton, N.J.) and Ross will run the 60m hurdles and 400m dash. Along with the pair, Virginia Beringer (Fredericksburg, Va.), Aylin Bruce (Lexington, Mass.), Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.), Morgan Lyons (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Maddie Orr (Rumson, N.J.) are also set for the 400. Helbling ranks first in the 400 in the A-10.
Helbling will look to improve on her 600m time of 1:11.82 from the John Thomas Terrier Classic two weeks ago that earned her the ranking of fourth in the world and first in the U.S. and NCAA. Beringer, Lyons and Orr will also run the 600, while the event features the return of Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.) who last raced at December's CNU Holiday Open. There, she ran the conference's fastest 800 mark of the season with a 2:06.23 posting.
The 800 field will feature Lindsay Colflesh (Haddonfield, N.J.), Kate McAndrew (Denville, N.J.) and Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.), while Colflesh and Izzy Blaylock (Dallas, Tex.) will run the 1,000. O'Connell currently ranks third in the conference, while McAndrew is fourth.
McAndrew, O'Connell, Anna George (Montville, N.J.), Elizabeth Stockman (Rocky Hill, Conn.), Lily Snow (Richmond, Va.) and Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) will run the mile and 3,000, while Laurel Kurtz (Flemington, N.J.), Kathryn Shea (Hartford, Conn.) and Manon Stephen (Basking Ridge, N.J.) will solely run the 3,000 and Caitlin O'Hare (Middletown, N.J.) will be the Spiders' lone entry in the 5,000.
On the men's side, Jake Schindel (Richmond, Va.) will run the mile while William Tune (Richmond, Va.) runs the 1,000 and Jordan Bendura (Glen Allen, Va.), Tanner Crochet (Monmouth, N.J.), Riley Fletcher (East Northport, Va.) and Robert Gunia (Fredericksburg, Va.) are set to face off in the 3,000. Sean Doolan (Loudonville, N.Y.), Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.), and Patrick Sutphin (Mechanicsville, Va.) are set for the 5,000.
