Woods Breaks School Record Again Friday

New York— Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) broke her own school record in the long jump at day one of the Rutgers Open at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory Friday.
The Atlantic 10 leader jumped a career-best 6.09 (19-11.75) for third in the championship event to break the Richmond program record for the second time this season, while Morgan Crocker (Richmond, Va.) leaped a season-best 5.46 (17-11.00) for seventh in the college event.
Kamryn Ross (Richmond, Va.) finished sixth with a 8.67 in the 60m hurdles prelims to qualify for tomorrow's finals, while Tamar Accius (Jacksonville, Fla.) clocked a 7.69 in the 60m dash to also advance.
Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.) ran the Atlantic 10's fastest 400m dash time of the season with a 54.77 for third.
Lindsay Colflesh (Haddonfield, N.J.) ran personal best 2:57.57 for seventh in the 1,000, while Isabel Blaylock (Dallas, Tex.) ran a 2:58.62 for 12th.
Elizabeth Stockman (Rocky Hill, Conn.) ran a 4:48.95 mile PR to claim fourth and lead five Spiders under 5:00. Teammates Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.) ran a PR of 4:52.81, Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) crossed in 4:55.25, Kate McAndrew (Danville, N.J.) ran 4:55.44 for a personal best and Lily Snow (Richmond, Va.) ran 4:58.73. O'Connell, Trippett and McAndrew placed sixth, eighth and ninth respectively.
On the men's side, Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) won the 5,000 with a 14:27.38, Sean Doolan (Loudonville, N.Y.) followed with an indoor PR of 15:04.65 and Patrick Sutphin (Mechanicsville, Va.) also picked up a PR, this time with a 15:34.55. William Tune (Richmond, Va.) clocked a 2:30.84 in the 1,000 for another.
