DAVIDSON, N.C. – Three Spiders won their singles matches Saturday afternoon as Richmond was edged out by Davidson, 4-3.

The Wildcats (3-2) had an immediate advantage over the Spiders (1-5), taking court three doubles and court six singles by default.

Davidson swept the doubles point, picking up 6-2 wins on both courts.

In singles, Emily Dunbar, Carly Cohen, and Marta Buendia all picked up wins. Helene Heiberg and Sara Salemyr, however, would not go down easily.

Cohen improved to 3-1 at the No. 2 singles spot with a 6-1, 6-3 win, and Buendia also won in straight sets (6-4, 6-4), to improve to 2-2 at No. 5 singles.

Dunbar earned her first singles win of the season, battling back for a 5-7, 7-6, 7-5 win.

The Spiders are right back at it tomorrow at UNCG beginning at noon.
