Spiders Win Home Opener 6-1 Against Hampton

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Spiders opened their home slate Wednesday afternoon when they hosted Hampton University at the Westhampton Tennis Courts. The Spiders won 6-1 to improve to 1-2 this season.

All three doubles pairs picked up their first wins of the season, and five Spiders picked up their first singles wins of the year.

Sebastian Miano and Alex Wernink began the day with a 6-1 doubles win before Josh Keitelman and Ricky Bell clinched the doubles point with another 6-1 win.

In singles play, Miano snagged a quick win, and Alasiter Burke swept his opponent 6-1,6-1 before Campbell Erwin clinched the match for Richmond with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
