Mitchell named Patriot League Golfer of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Richmond's Naomi Mitchell has been named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Mitchell, a senior from Norfolk, Va., earned medalist honors at Richmond's match vs Seton Hall and St. John's, which concluded on Monday. Mitchell finished the 36-hole event at an even-par 144 after shooting 71 (-1) in Round 1 and 73 (+1) in Round 2, one stroke ahead of Seton Hall's Sarah Fouratt.Â
This is Mitchell's third career weekly Patriot League honor. She was also named Patriot League Golfer of the Week twice in March 2021.Â
Mitchell led Richmond to a team score of 600 (+24) in the match, three strokes better than Seton Hall and nine strokes ahead of St. John's. It was the second time Mitchell finished first in a field of 15 or more during her carer at Richmond along with the Spiders victory in a match vs William & Mary last season.Â
Mitchell and the Spiders will next compete at the River Landing Classic in Wallace, N.C on March 7-8.Â
