Ryan Lanchbury Named One Of 25 Nominees For Tewaaraton Award

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond graduate attack Ryan Lanchbury (Burlington, Ontario) has been selected as one of the 25 nominees for the Tewaaraton Award Nominees Presented by AXIA Time. Lanchbury is one of two from the Southern Conference on the list, being joined by Asher Nolting of High Point.
The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are comprised of premier college coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be selected from these groups, to be announced in three weeks at the conclusion of the regular season. Lanchbury was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List at the start of the season, the second time in his career he has been on the list.
Lanchbury is also one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award this season in men's lacrosse. The graduate student from Burlington, Ontario ranks first all-time in Richmond scoring history with 270 points (150 goals, 120 assists), with both marks at the top of the charts all-time for the Spiders. Lanchbury leads the team this season with 58 points, scoring 28 goals and handing out 30 assists.
He was selected second overall in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) 2021 entry draft by the Georgia Swarm. He was the 2021 Southern Conference Player of the Year and has been named an All-American twice in his career.
