Spiders Fall to Top-Seeded VCU in A-10 Quarterfinals

ORLANDO, Fla. – The eighth-seeded University of Richmond women's tennis team fell to No. 1 seed VCU, 4-0, Thursday afternoon in the Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinals at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

With the loss, the Spiders finish their season 8-11 overall.

After dropping court two doubles, Emily Dunbar and Sara Salemyr took court one 7-5, and it came down to court three where Helene Heiberg and Emily Garvin pushed VCU to a tiebreaker but fell 7-1.

Salemyr took the first set of her singles match 6-2 on court four and was just trailing 5-4 in set two when Richmond fell in straight sets on courts six, three, and one.
