Women Second, Men Third at Navy Invitational

Annapolis, Md. — The University of Richmond cross country program came away from the Navy Invitational with a runner-up finish out of the women and a third place finish from the men.
Richmond took second as a team in the women's 6K with 57 points backed by two Spiders in the top five. Sophomore Madison Trippett recorded a 21:49.0 for third while Elizabeth's Stockman's 21:59.2 earned her fifth. Laurel Kurtz was the next Spider to cross at 22:31.0 for 13th, while Brooke Reif was Richmond's top freshman performer with a 22:47.8 posting for 19th and fellow first-year Phoebe Rubio ran in 22:49.9 for 21st. Isabel Blaylock crossed at 22:51.9 for 20th and Kyra Keurentjes rounded out Spider scorers with a 22:52.0 for 21st.
The men finished third as a team in the 4.9 mile race with a 99 points. Stuart Terrill led the way for Richmond, running a 23:56.2 for fifth. Jimmy Quinn was 20th with a 25:06.9, Jordan Bendura clocked a 25:27.3 for 29th, Robbie Gunia finished 37th with a 25:53.0 while Riley Fletcher followed right behind with a 25:53.7 for 38th. Tanner Crochet (43rd, 26:04.9) and Noah Campbell (50th, 26:13.0) rounded out Spider scorers.
The night kicked off with freshman Jade Mawn claiming first in the open 5K, running a 16:06.8. On the women's side, another Spider took the top spot when sophomore Emily Rzucidlo ran a 20:51.4 and freshman Caroline Donohue clocked a 20:55.7 to follow close behind for second.
Next up, the Spiders head to Bethlehem, Pa. for Lehigh's Paul Short Run.
