Several Personal Bests Highlight Paul Short Run

Bethlehem, Pa. — The University of Richmond cross country program took to the deep field at the 48th annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh Friday, where the women took 31st and the men took 37th. The day was highlighted by several personal-best times by both squads.
Richmond was led by Madison Trippett in the College Gold 6K where she ran a 20:53.8 for 107th overall, blowing past her previous best of 21:49.0. Elizabeth Stockman followed with a 21:05.0 to better her previous best of 21:13.8, Laurel Kurtz was next with a PR of 21:28.7, a jump from her previous-best mark of 22:18.0 and Anna George clocked a 21:47.8 to improve on her previous PR of 22:30.2. Phoebe Rubio ran her first collegiate 6K, coming in at 21:57.1, while Allison Colflesh turned in another Spider PR, this time running a 22:03.8 to improve over a minute from her previous best of 23:11.6. Kyra Keurentjes recorded a PR of 22:07.7 to move on past her previous mark of 22:50.3 to round out Spider scorers, while Manon Stephen improved from 23:17.8 with her time of 22:33.08, and Brooke Reif closed out Spider performances with her first collegiate 6K time of 22:42.4.
Stuart Terrill led the men in the College Gold 8K, clocking a PR of 23:39.2 for 50th, a jump from his previous best of 24:42.5. A gap grew between Terrill and the rest of the Spiders, with Jordan Bendura crossing next at a PR time of 25:08.0 to improve from his previous 26:22.3. Robert Gunia followed, running a 25:16.3 to move past his previous best time of 26:01.8 and Tanner Crochet (25:18.1) cruised past his previous-best 8K time of 26:31.3. Jake Schindel came in with a personal-best 25:37.3, Sean Doolan ran a PR of 25:42.7 and Patrick Sutphin rounded out Spider scorers with a 25:52.1. William Tune ran a 26:12.4 for his first collegiate 6K and Evan Leach clocked a PR of 26:12.4 to improve from his previous 26:51.8.
Next up, the Spiders head to the IC4A/ECAC Championships at the Bronx's Van Cortlandt Park Oct. 14.
