Doogan Named Back-to-Back A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Coming off a thrilling 94-90 overtime win against Saint Joseph's on Sunday, the University of Richmond Women's Basketball team has the honor of highlighting freshman Maggie Doogan as A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row, announced by the league office Monday.
Doogan, a native of Broomall, Pa., continued her outstanding freshman campaign against Fordham and SJU, and remains a key component in the Spider starting lineup. She had another career night against the Hawks as she recorded her fourth-straight game in double figures in addition to a career-high 28 points through 37 minutes, a career-high three blocks, five assists, an 8 of 13 (61.5%) field goal percentage, a 4 of 7 (57.1%) three-point percentage and a career-high 8 of 10 (80%) from the free throw line.
In the game against Fordham, the freshman recorded 10 points and was just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds. She also picked up four assists, two thefts and a block through 33 minutes. Through two games, she averaged 19 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game, two blocks per game and two steals per game.
Doogan and the Woman's Basketball team have a full slate of road games this week, taking on UMass on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then a trip to Dayton on Feb. 4 at noon. The Spiders return to the Robins Center on Feb. 8, playing host to La Salle at 6 p.m.
