Beasley Wins Patriot League Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. — Spiders freshman Maya Beasley is the Patriot League Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Beasley tied for fourth among 107 golfers in this week's UNCG Fall Invitational with a score of 2-under par (214), the third-lowest tournament score in program history.
Beasley opened play at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. Monday morning with a 4-over 76 and followed it with a 2-under 70 in Round 2. In Tuesday's final round, she birdied her final four holes to shoot a 4-under 68, tied for the third-lowest round ever by a Spider. Beasley's 4-under in Round 3 led the Spiders to a team-score of 5-under par (283), the best round in program history by a four-stroke margin. Richmond finished runner-up in the 19-team event, the best showing for the Spiders in a tournament that size or larger since 2013.
Beasley is the second Spider to earn Patriot League Golfer of the Week this season. Sophomore Hannah Lydic was honored on September 20 follower her runner-up finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
