Quinn Named to Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Team
10/17/2023 | Men's Basketball
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Spiders senior center Neal Quinn has been named a Preseason Third-Team All-Conference selection, the Atlantic 10 announced at its annual Men's Basketball Media Day at the Barclays Center. Quinn, Richmond's second-leading scorer with 9.5 points per game last season, is the 16th different Spider to earn Preseason All-Atlantic 10 honors in Chris Mooney's 19 seasons at Richmond.
Quinn ranked among the Atlantic 10's leaders in field goal percentage (ninth at 54.2), assist-to-turnover ratio (10th at 1.9), and assists per game (14th with 2.9 per game) last year, his first with the Spiders after transferring to Richmond from Lafayette during the 2022 offseason. Quinn played his best basketball of the season late last year, averaging 13.4 points over his final five games — a stretch that started when he scored a season-high 21 points at VCU on February 24.
The conference also announced the results of its Preseason Poll Tuesday. Voting from a panel of the conference's head coaches and leading media members placed the Spiders 11th in the conference.
